THE LIGHT THAT SHINES IN THE DARKNESS

In this current state of our nation, we find ourselves faced with uncertainty and volatility. The decisions that are being made from courtrooms in Washington, D.C. are imminently infiltrating our homes and families. It is easy for these circumstances to cause us to question what God is doing, and if He is really on the throne.

A few months ago; I received major inspiration from Holy Spirit regarding the current darkness that looms over us.

Here is what He told me to write:

On the surface level, it seems unsalvageable. Nations rage, tensions soar. All light is seemingly lost. Lies are accepted while the truth is silenced. Darkness is appealing while light is rejected. In this day and age, we need to re-direct our focus to the One who reigns over the horizon. The One who parted the sea for His children. The One who breaks the bow and shatters the spear and makes wars cease to the ends of the earth. We must remember who God is.

He is our salvation, our kinsman redeemer, our provider and, most importantly- our protector. We see His redemptive pattern throughout the history of time. When it is most dark- He uses it as an opportunity to pierce through opposition with His pure light. John 1:5 tells us that, 'The light shines in the darkness- and the darkness has not overcome it.'

Today, the light still shines in the darkness. It always has and always will. It does not wax or wane. It is constant. The darker the space, the brighter light shines.

Jesus is the light of the world. He is the God of peace that has crushed darkness and Satan under His feet.

Therefore, do not be discouraged when you turn on the news. Do not be dismayed by what you see on social media. Our God is El Shaddai, the "all-sufficient One". He turns impossible situations into redeemed realities. He cleanses the leper, resurrects the dead and sets the captives free. Fear not. Change is here. Revival is here. Our Savior is here, protecting His children and equipping them for revival. Have confidence and walk in triumph in the one who is Victor over all."

Now, it has been several months since this was written. The message still holds truth; no matter what our circumstances may look like in the physical, our provision, our protection, our comfort and inheritance is in the Kingdom of God. Though things may look intimidating in our earthly perspective with our eyes, we have a Heavenly Father who is all mighty and can change things in a moment.

In this time, we must be seeking the God more than we ever have. We have to prioritize His presence over our excuses and to-do lists because it will be our source of peace and provision during this time. When we find ourselves in His presence, we are getting a glimpse of what it means to see His Kingdom on earth as it is in heaven. We get to experience Him being our source to meet our needs, showing us things we have not yet seen and cultivating true identity that can not be shaken and peace that surpasses all understanding.

Child of God, run to El Shiddai. The all-sufficient One who is more than able to protect, provide and love you no matter what the circumstances look like. He is the light that shines in the darkness, and the darkness will not overcome Him.
